12Bet (pronounced 1-2-Bet) is a brand that has been on the UK market for some time. The original incarnation was (and still is outside of the UK & Europe) an Asian book that specialised in Asian Handicap football betting. When the point of consumption tax came into effect, 12Bet stopped offering its services to UK punters, as the low margin offering was never going to be profitable when faced with a 20% tax on bets.
The brand was acquired by TGP Europe Ltd, which also operates the likes of 138.com and JenningsBet, and is now operated as a more conventional sportsbook. The sign up offer is worth £50, whereby the customer places 6 bets and then receives a free bet up to the value of his lowest bet.
There is a large selection of both pre-match and live wagering options and odds are competitive and limits reasonable. As with other bookmakers in this group, horse racing odds are in line with the rest of the market and Best Odds Guaranteed is offered to punters. Betting limits will be restricted if you are seen as a sharp punter, but overall this is a solid book.
